Gongura_Chicken (Sorrel Leaves-Pulicha Keerai)




rong>Ingredients:rong>
Chicken - 1 lb
Gongura leaves - 2 bundles
Onion - 2 nos
Green chilli - 10 nos
G & G Paste - 1 tbsp
Curry leaves - few
ani seed - 1 tsp
Patta/cinnamon - 2
Cardamom - 2
Grambu/cloves - 4
Bay leaves -2
MDH Chicken masala - 1 tbsp (option)
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 2 tbsp

Method:
* In a cooker add little oil and fry 8 green chillies, then add Gongura leaves. Fry it for a while then add 1 tsp of turmeric powder and salt. Allow 2 whistles,then Make it cool. Grind it as paste and keep it aside.
* Wash the chicken first, Then add G & G paste,salt,turmeric powder,chicken masala, chilli powder and keep it for an hour.
* Add little water into this chicken mix and Allow 2 whistles,then Make it cool.
* In a pan heat 1 tbsp of oil, add the ani seed,cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, Bay leaves, after roasting a little add sliced onion, Curry leaves and 2 Green chilli.
* Once the onion is done add cooked chicken along with water and cook it 15 min in low flame.
* Once water reduced add gongura paste and cook it for 10 more min.
* Once the thick Gravy come, take it out from the stove.
* Sereve it hot.


Note: It goes well with rice and chapati. :)
